This Friday evening (July 27) from 6p-8p Ormond Memorial Art Museum is hosting Dogapalooza benefiting the Halifax Humane Society. It is a dog-centric festival honoring man’s best friend and is in conjunction with a very cool dog-themed art exhibit going on now through August 19.

Activities will include a dog costume contest judged at 7 p.m., doggie paw painting where mutts can create a messy masterpiece, music and a chance to view the “Dog Days of Summer” art exhibit. (Brief dog-sitting services will be offered so that two-legged guests can visit the exhibition inside the museum).

Admission to Dogapalooza will be $2, food and drink will be available for purchase.

Any guests bringing pet food for Sophie’s Circle, Volusia County’s only pet-food bank, will be entered into a drawing for tickets to Kennedy Space Center.

Well-behaved pooches on leashes are welcome to attend.

The Diamond Dawgs are in a semi-professional league that features the most talented of the college players that are expected to be drafted to the big leagues. There will be contests and prizes during the game too! The event drew the largest crowd of the season last year, over 600 spectators and their dogs.
