Ressi is home! Reesi, a 5-year-old female Scottish Terrier mix, was reunited with her dad after being lost for 15 months.  Reesi came to Orange County Animal Services as a stray on Sunday, October 20, and was scanned for a microchip.

Because her microchip information was up to date, they were able to locate her owner, who is now living in St. Petersburg. After receiving the call from Animal Services, Ressi’s owner drove more than 100 miles to reunite with his long-lost dog.

Orange County Animal Services microchips every pet prior to adoption, but the new owner is responsible for registering the chip and keeping it up to date.

If you ever find an animal, please take it to a local veterinarian or animal shelter to have it scanned for a microchip.
